It is becoming increasingly apparent that the current anime series of Bleach will be drawing to a conclusion on 27th March 2012. The series has been running continuously since 2004 and has had its fair share of ups and downs, the series has become notorious for it’s less than brilliant story arcs and lack of characterisation, but at the same time has done a fantastic job of portraying an extensive manga with a very large cast of characters.

This week we have a single volume release in the form of Bleach Series 8 Part 2 from Manga Entertainment.

After a pretty poor run of episodes it’s safe to say that we have a return to form for the series this time. Of course that does not mean it is fault free but there is a faster pace on offer as well as plenty of exciting action with a few surprises.

The previous Bleach release left a lot to be desired so you wouldn’t be blamed for thinking things could only get better, and if you like Bleach battles then you will certainly find them in this first volume of series 8, however you are fairly unlikely to find anything else of value.
