Islay Word Map
Port Ellen has always been on the map. It just wasn't highlighted. It closed in '83 with Diageo re-opening it earlier this year. From 1973 it served as the maltings for all of the other distilleries on the island except for Bruichladdich....and still does. There's gallons of the old stuff kicking about. I got a bottle in the early 90s when I painted the windows for Oddbins. It was about £30. You can buy that off of them now for £3000.....

About time I updated the Whisky Word Map to include @northpointdistillery @8doorsdistillery @thebordersdistillery @northuistdistillery @torabhaig_distillery Always adding to it. Excuse the current omissions in Speyside. It can get a trifle cramped up here. I'm working on it!

The Isle (singular) of Lewis & Harris. Easy way to know what part you are in - if it's relatively flat you're probably in Lewis and if you're up a big hill it's more likely to be Harris.
