a watercolor painting of a building with a clock on it
Palazzo dell'orologio, Pisa
Dating back to medieval times it was the residence of the captain of the people. Basically the guy who balanced the power of the noble families of the day. Open edition digital print on 230 gram matt heavyweight paper.
a watercolor painting of a building with a clock tower
Trinity College, Park District, Glasgow
Trinity College in the background but it's the Disney tower to the right that is of more interest. It's attached to a remoddled 60s build where there once sat Park church, Designed by JT Rochead. Not as well known as some of Glasgow's other distinguised architects but no less prolific: The Western Baths; Adelphi Theatre; St John's & St. Andrew's churches and The Wallace Monument which he never received a penny for as it went way over budget and the contractor went bust! Some things never change. https://amcmurchie.com/product/park-circus-trinity-college-towers/
a drawing of a store front on a blue wall
Langside Cafe, Glasgow
@langside.cafe One of the few remaining classic cafes in the city and thankfully unchanged since the 60s. The wee cone out the front got knocked last year, leaving only the flake. That's the best bit! Anyway, it was returned unharmed. Just as well as they cost about 600 quid!

Mitchell Library, Glasgow
Named after Stephen Mitchell tobacco merchant & philanthropist. He never married and had no weans, so left a large sum of money for a library to be built for the people of Glasgow. The biggest reference library in Europe. Still to this day! He was also responsible in large part for funding the building of Greek Thomson's St Vincent St masterpiece.

King Tut's, Glasgow
Here's an idea. And not mine, obviously. Customer wanted their favourite gig on the @kingtutsofficial blackboard. Brilliant! 💡 I won't even charge you extra. What's your favourite? Off the top of my head? Mercury Rev

Rogano, Glasgow
"Romantic Rogano" You wouldn't even know it's there now, but it is, and it will be back. Art Deco classic built at the same time and by some of the workers who built the Queen Mary on the clyde in the ealy 1930s. Problem is the building is owned by the richest billionaire in Spain and he's too mean to through a few mil at it to repair the water damage and let the new Rogano owners get to work on restoring it back to its former glory. A haven all year round but even more so at Christmas time.

Bridge on the river Kelvin
"Bridge on the river Kelvin" starring Alec Guinness & William Holden. At no point of any day of the year will you find Belmont St. with no pedestrians on it. Just one of the many weird quirks of Kelvinbridge.
a painting hanging on the wall with a clock tower in the background and blue walls
Trinity Towers - Parck Circus, Glasgow
The former Trinity College, Glasgow 1856 designed by Charles Wilson. Now flats.
a watercolor painting of a row of houses on a blue wall with black frame
One Devonshire Gardens Terrace, Glasgow
"One Devonshire Gardens Terrace" 1870 Painted this three times now. First of the doorway for Sunday Herald. Second from the side angle for Sunday Herald with a huge lorry parked outside. Don't know what I was thinking!! It should always have always been this view though to show off its splendour. Last time you would have been able to look at it like this would have been when it was built. Before the trees. #onedevonshiregardens #hotelduvin #hotelduvinglasgow #adrianmcmurchie #theglasgowillustrator #hotelduvin #glasgow #shopscotland
a watercolor drawing of a building with orange shutters
Ryrie's Bar, Edinburgh
Right next door to Haymarket Railway station sits Ryrie's pub. A favourite last drink for travellers before getting the last train back to Glasgow.
a black frame holds a map of the scottish football team in different colors and sizes
Scottish Football Word Map - Dead Famous Cities Glasgow
All pro teams pulled out in their club colours. Tremendous self-restraint shown by not making my team the biggest text on the map. Printed on 230 gram matt heavyweight paper.
a painting of a king's cafe on the wall
Glasgow Cafes
"Glasgow Cafes" or what's left of them. Highlights for me are The Derby where I was brought up. You can still buy their tubs of homemade vanilla ice cream and it's still ace! The Kings where I had a flat and often indulged in an artery clogging roll 'n' fritter. You can see what cafes we have lost over the years on the walls of Cafe Gandolfi.
