Famous Painting of Alfred Sisley

Alfred Sisley (Oct. 30, 1839, Paris, France—died Jan. 29, 1899) was essentially a landscape painter. His works can be distinguished from those of his colleagues by their softly harmonious values. His early style was much influenced by Camille Corot, and his restricted and delicate palette continued to reflect something of Corot’s silvery tonalities. His snowscapes are particularly effective. Much of his best and most spontaneous work was done in the period 1872–80
