Helen Mort lives in Sheffield and is the current Derbyshire Poet Laureate. Her collection ‘Division Street’ was published by Chatto & Windus and was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize. Her poems have appeared in The Alpinist and in the anthology ‘Rock, Paper, Fire: The Best Mountain and Wilderness Writing.’ She’s has a pet whippet, is a keen fell runner and rock climber.

Steve Birkinshaw is a formidable endurance runner. In 2012 he won the Dragon’s Back race down the length of Wales. Chris, the mountaineer, writer, photographer and lecturer, started climbing at the age of 16 in 1951. It has been his passion ever since.
