Carambolas (or Star Fruit) from the tropical fruit garden in our private rainforest reserve. The entire fruit is edible, including the slightly waxy skin. The flesh is crunchy, firm, and extremely juicy. It does not contain fibers and has a texture similar in consistency to that of grapes. We use it mostly to make delicious refreshing juices (Golfo Dulce, Costa Rica). Be part of the dream at Golfo Dulce Retreat www.gdretreat.com

Not all bananas are created equal! We've just picked these in the fruit garden within our private rainforest reserve - Cuadratas (because of their square cross section), Plantain (delicious fried), Red Bananas (short and plump and our family favourites), small Yellow Bananas (they ripen quickly and are super sweet and make delicious banana breads) and a more common Banana (Golfo Dulce, Costa Rica).
