Landscapes as inspiration with Don Henderson

Don Henderson is primarily a studio based painter. In 2010 he moved onto a narrowboat on the Inland Waterways of England in order to partake in a year long experiment. Henderson chose a particular area to study (in the same way that David Hockney was doing), the Oxford Canal, 8 miles north of Oxford. Everyday he sketched in pencil and inks. Eventually he began to translate these sketches into paintings. The resultant pieces form a body of work entitled 'Immersed'.
